Socialmetrix got an special nomination at the Red Innova Startups competition

I’m so glad to tell you that yesterday Socialmetrix (project in which I’m working for about 1,5 years with Martin, Sebas and Gus) had been nominated as one of the best Iberoamerican Startups. This recognition is extremely important to us since it is a”thumbs up” to our project from the most recognized people in this field like Alejandro K. Mashad, Executive Director at Endeavor Argentina (Presidente of the Jury); Manuel Silva, Coporative Innovation at  BBVA; Juan Manuel Casco Nieto, Director of the Innovation Area at Caja Madrid; Pedro Iniesta, Innovation Director at Telefónica Latinoamérica; Pamela Hartigan, Skoll Centre Director for Social Entrepreneurship, Said Business School – University of Oxford; Rodolfo Lara, Head of Technology Pioneers and Knowledge Integration, World Economic Forum; Damián Voltes, CEO, Patagonia Ventures.

Congratulations to the first three Startups!!! Its great to know that Latin America is awake ;-)

1- Keepcon from Argentina.

2- Popego from Argentina.

3- Betazeta from Chile.

Here I leave you some pictures I took from Lord Jerome.

SocialMetrix.com – One of the Red Innova Startup Competition’s Finalists

Its been almost two years since we (the SocialMetrix founders) talked for first time about developing a reporting platform based on what people are saying on the Internet.

It was a long road until today. Things where normally different of what we were thinking and contingency plans became part of our normal planning but what never chanced in all this time was the final objective and our passion.

Today, I’m very glad to announce that SocialMetrix is finalist at the Red Innova Startups contest. This gave us the necessary breath to keep pushing SocialMetrix to the place we’ve imagined from the first time.

I would like to thanks Red Innova for the opportunity that gave us.

I would also like to thanks the other people that make this Company come true with functional products and clients. Martin (Enriquez) the guy that always said “It is possible”, Sebastian (Rosenfeld) one of the most pragmatic and passionate guys I’ve ever meet and Gustavo (Arjones), a f…ing brilliant mind.

My best wishes to the rest of the participants, I know some of them (like Santiago Siri) and they are amazing. Good luck!

Think before become a Blogger – Very Funny

Yesterday I received a message from Amelia, an student from the UP (Universidad de Palermo) with a link to a very funny (and not) post from Andrew G.R. called Bloggers Must Always Assume Everything.

You’ve heard the saying before: “If you assume, you make as ass out of you and me.” But in my humble opinion, bloggers MUST assume! Everyday, every post.

ASSUME that your blog will be read by your friends, family and everybody else you have ever known.

ASSUME that if you’re writing under a pseudonym, you will be found out.

ASSUME that if you’re posting to your blog at work, your boss is on to you; it could cost you your job.

ASSUME that there’s no such thing as an anonymous comment. Continue reading
