It´s official, Flash has its own rival
September 5, 2007 – 6:06 pmWell, its official, Microsoft has launched Silverlight or the “platform of choice for developers who build rich Internet applications.” as said Michael Arrington.
With this product Microsoft is officially an Adobe (former Macromedia) Flash rival.

Silverlight 1.0 runs under both Windows and OS X, and have a partnership with Novell so will also be available for Linux.
The first time you want to visualize a Silverlight content you must download a plugin something that, in my opinion, is not a barrier since you just do it once. On the other hand flash also require a plugin download, hence we frequently need to download a new plugin from time to time.
The key feature is how readable is the content for search engines. This is the only thing that is tying designer to use much more rich media on their projects, so if Silverlight is more readable the successful is guaranteed.

One Response to “It´s official, Flash has its own rival”
Unless silverlight could be read by search engines, this application has no reason why being at the market.
There is any technical information about it?
